HOW TO PLAY GUITAR FOR BEGINNERS - LESSON 4 THE F CHORD

In this lesson we will be covering the F chord. The reason I do a lesson only for this chord is cause I know a lot of people who struggle with it.I remember when I started playing guitar I even looked for songs that didn't contain F in it.So in this lessons I will show you some different variations on how to play the F chord.

This is the way I recommend you to play it:

With your index finger try to hold the two strings and produce a clean sound...This may take awhile.

Here is another variation on how to play it,but a bit more advanced:

The "1" covering the whole fret means you must hold all six strings down in order to play it. If you want try it but I really recommend you play the first variation,it's easier and sounds the same way.

GUITAR LESSON FOR BEGINNERS 3 (Pt 2) DOMINANT CHORDS

Dominant chords have a slightly more advanced shapes. A bit harder to remember and may need a bit more stretching. If you got used to the 1-st basic open chords I don't think you will find this any more difficult.
Here are the dominant (7) open chords:

HOW TO PLAY GUITAR FOR BEGINNERS - LESSON 3 OPEN CHORDS

Open chords are usually the first thing the beginning guitar player learns. This doesn't mean that it's very easy. Learning to work together with your left hand fingers and producing a clean sound is hard work, but if you practice you'll get the hang of it soon enough. Open chords are named this way because they always contain at least one open string. They are the most common used chords, specially on acoustic guitar. They can be used on electric guitar, but they sound better on acoustic guitar in my opinion.
Here is some info on the chords:
1. Guitar chords are named according to letters going from A to G.
2. A letter with a "7" next to it means that it is a dominant chord(C7).
3. A letter with an "m" next to it means that the chord is in minor(Em).
4. A letter without m or 7 is a major chord.

This will explain how to read the pictures:

Here's a list of basic guitar chords that every guitarist needs to know:

1. major

2. minor

The numbers 1,2,3 stand for your fingers. 1-index,2-middle,3-ring finger.
The "0" and "X" on top of both images are 0-open string and x-not played.
Here is a video of me showing some of the chords for you:

So that's all for this lesson. Comming up Lesson 3 part 2 dominant chords... They will be in another post cause they are a little more complicated. Stay tuned for more.

HOW TO PLAY GUITAR FOR BEGINNERS - LESSON 2 HOW TO READ TABS

TAB (or Guitar Tablature) is a way of writing music for the guitar. It's perfect for those that cannot read notations (notes).
The guitar tablature has 6 horizontal lines that represent the 6 guitar strings.
Here is an example...

|-----------0--------| taken
|--------0-----0-----| from
|-----0-----------0--| Metallica-nothing else matters(intro)
|---------------------|
|---------------------|
|--0-----------------|

The top line is the thinnest string(1st) and the lowest line represents the thickest 6th string. The numbers that are placed on the lines show what fret to play on which string. In this example they are all "0" - this is an open string(played with no fingers on it).

If numbers are placed on top of each other they form a chord and are played all together.

|--2---| 1st String Example: D chord
|--3---| 2nd String
|--2---| 3rd String
|--0---| 4th String
|--X---| 5th String
|--X---| 6th String

"X" - do not play this string

HOW TO PLAY GUITAR FOR BEGINNERS - LESSON 1 GUITAR TUNING
